By playing with scale, light, and tone, these designs unpack the power dynamics behind the food industry and its subsequent grip on metaphorically parched victims. By no fault of their own, people living without access to reliable, healthy food are left in the hands of obscured, unknowable hands literally feasting on their famine. The man is constantly shown surrounded by the dried, earthy rocks that symbolize a lifeless reality. The artist intentionally sets the scenes in black and white to evoke images of past famines and hardships like the Dust Bowl of the Great Depression.
